Data usage & privacy policy

Version 1.0 · Operated by Daira EdTech Pvt. Ltd.. Requests and questions: arc@dairaedtech.in

What we collect

  • Account details you give us: name, email, phone, gender (optional), institution, city, state, and study details. These identify you as a competitor and appear on your team's registration.
  • Profile extras you choose to add: photo, headline, current role, bio, skills, and links to LinkedIn, GitHub or a portfolio. All of these are optional.
  • Competition records: your team, payments, submissions, and, when you finalise a submission, a consent stamp of time, IP address and browser, kept as evidence that the declaration was made.
  • If you connect LinkedIn, we receive only what its sign-in API provides: your name, photo, email and language. LinkedIn does not share your headline, experience or connections with us, and we never scrape it.

What other people see

  • Other entrants in your event see your name, college, city and profile extras only when you're listed on Explore. Listing is opt-in for teams (the leader switches it on) and switchable off for individuals at any time from your profile.
  • Your email and phone are never shown on Explore and are never given to other entrants. Contact happens through invitations inside the platform.
  • Jury members see submissions, not personal profiles, and score against a rubric.

What we use it for

  • Running the competition: registration, team formation, payment records, judging and results. That's the purpose; we don't sell personal data or use it for advertising.
  • Operational messages about your team and stages, invitations, results, deadline reminders.

Where it lives & how long

  • Data is stored with our hosting and database providers under access controls; uploads sit in private storage reachable only through short-lived signed links.
  • Competition records are kept for the event's audit trail. Account data is deleted on request once the event's obligations (payments, results) no longer require it.

Your choices

  • Edit your profile at any time; switch Explore listing off at any time; disconnect LinkedIn at any time (this deletes the link, the typed URL stays yours to keep or remove).
  • For access, correction or deletion requests, write to us and we'll act on them in line with India's DPDP Act.

The competition's terms live in the competition rules.
